Senior Sing, is a new community engagement program that fosters the creation of choirs in assisted living homes and senior centers. Armed with current research on the many benefits of group singing for the senior community, our goal is to utilize choral music as a catalyst for positive development in the physical and mental health for this fastest growing segment of society. This engaging program aims to elicit proven health benefits of group singing, including improved health outcomes, reduced depression, increased engagement, and improved self-esteem. This fall we partnered with the Canton Christian Home. Over thirty residents participated, supported by VOCI choir members in twelve weeks of rehearsal culminating in a public performance on November 30th, 2016.
In the Fall of 2017 Senior Sing will partner with Aultman Generations.
